Domaine Eden Chardonnay 2015- $24.99
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail- $32
Terrific California Chardonnay made with picture perfect balance, 65% of this is from it’s sister vineyard the Mount Eden Estate. This is a complex wine, tasting it alone is an exercise for your pallet, it’s hard to comprehend a wine of this size that is also light on its feet. But with food it is much easier to understand, the weight of the wine stands up to bold flavors, and the acidity allows the wine to become friends with various foods.
“The 2015 Chardonnay is a gorgeous, pedigreed wine that captures all the brilliance and pedigree of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Weightless and gracious in the glass, with lovely aromatic lift and tons of energy, the Domaine Eden Chardonnay is pure class. Citrus, floral, almond and mineral nuances add further shades of nuance. Even more importantly, the 2015 is wonderfully fresh and vibrant, which will allow it to age gracefully for years to come. 92 points.” Vinous

Heritiers du Comte Lafon Saint-Veran 2016- $19.99
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail- $40
We scoffed this up from our distributor at a great price and it drinks like a $40 wine!! Rich with the pure butter and tart apple of the great White Burgundies, it also has a clean fresh lemon driven finish, this is a spectacular value, just begging for grilled fish.
“This has a bright, focussed nose of lemon curd, white pepper and orange rind. There’s a burst of fresh fruit on the attack, before revealing nutty, lifted notes. This is followed by a long, charming and pleasingly savory saline finish. 91 points.” Decanter

Bonny Doon Picpoul 2017- $11.99
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail- $20
Picpoul is a Southern French grape that emulates Chablis or Muscadet. This version grown in California gives the lemon peel and chalk flavors you expect, along with a really long finish. Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon continues to make elegant Old-World styled wines, and this is no exception, very classy.
“Limpid straw-yellow. Mineral- and herb-tinged nectarine and yellow apple scents backed by hints of lemon pith and honey. Juicy and light on its feet offering taut peach pit and pear skin flavors that unfold slowly on the back half. Smoothly blends fleshiness and nerve and shows firm nervy bite on the finish which leaves a tangy refreshingly bitter citrus pith note behind. 90 points.” Vinous
